How to Apply for SAPS 2025 Recruitment

1. Obtain the Application Form

  • Online: Download the official application form from the SAPS Careers Page

  • In Person: Collect a hard copy from your nearest police station or SAPS recruitment office

2. Complete the Application Form

  • Fill out the form accurately using black ink and capital letters

  • Do not leave any sections blank; write “N/A” if a section does not apply to you

  • Ensure all information is truthful and complete

3. Gather Required Documents

Attach certified copies of:

  • South African Identity Document (ID)

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification

  • Driver’s License (if applicable)

  • Proof of Residence

  • Tertiary Qualifications (if applicable)

  • Academic Records

  • Testimonial (School/Church/Traditional Leader)

  • Service Certificates from previous employers (if applicable)

Note: All documents must be certified by a Commissioner of Oaths within the last three months

4. Submit Your Application

  • Hand-deliver your completed application form and documents to your nearest police station or designated SAPS recruitment center during office hours

  • Ensure you receive an acknowledgment receipt as proof of submission

  • Late applications will not be accepted or considered


✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the SAPS 2025 recruitment, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Possess a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification

  • Have no criminal record

  • Be physically and mentally fit

  • Have no visible tattoos when wearing the SAPS uniform

  • Possess a valid driver’s license (advantageous)

  • Be proficient in English and one other official language

Shortlisted candidates will undergo:

  • Physical Fitness Test

  • Psychometric Testing

  • Medical Examination

  • Background Checks

  • Panel Interview Successful candidates will then be enrolled in the Basic Police Development Learning Programme (BPDLP), which includes:

  • 1 month of induction at a designated police station

  • 8 months of basic training at a SAPS academy

  • 12 months of probation phase with workplace exposure at a police station or unit
