Main Purpose of the Job

As an Operational Ambulance Emergency Assistant, you will:

• Respond to emergency calls promptly and efficiently.

• Provide intermediate medical care in line with your scope of practice.

• Ensure operational readiness for all emergency situations.

• Promote and maintain a positive public image for ER24.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Operational Readiness: Maintain ambulances, equipment, and resources to ensure seamless emergency response.

• Patient Care: Deliver high-quality intermediate medical care in accordance with established protocols.

• Public Image: Represent ER24 professionally, fostering trust and confidence in the community.

Required Education

• Essential: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.

• Desired: Completion of training related to the Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  Note: If not already compliant with HPCSA guidelines, successful candidates must complete this training during the probation period.

Required Experience

• Essential: Minimum of 1 year of EMS experience.

• Desired: 1 year of Intermediate Life Support (ILS) experience.

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

• Application of best practices in emergency medical care.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.

• Knowledge of local facilities, travel routes, and demographics in the Rustenburg area.

• Familiarity with HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice.

• Completion and understanding of Patient Report Forms.

• Strong command of the English language (written and verbal).
