Key Responsibilities

As a Metallurgical Plant Fitter, you will:

• Work rotation shifts to support plant operations.

• Provide functional support, quality control, and implement best practices within the Metallurgical Plant.

• Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs to optimize gold plant production.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment, including crushers, pumps, motors, belts, and other structural components.

• Foster strong working relationships to ensure team productivity and satisfaction.

• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues with specialized knowledge.

• Assign corrective measures and follow up on outstanding tasks.

• Ensure all work complies with required standards, specifications, and the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).

• Uphold Gold One’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have:

• Education: Grade 11 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.

• Certification: Relevant Trade Test from a recognized institution (preferably Section 13).

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a gold plant or industrial environment.

• Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of gold plant workshop procedures, including plant maintenance, crushers, pumps, motors, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Proficiency in English and one other official South African language.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Independent judgment, initiative, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work at heights.

• Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and own transport.

  • Legal South African citizenship.

  • Clear criminal record.
