Responsibilities

• Plan and implement maintenance schedules for underground TMM in line with production needs
• Ensure TMM auto-electrical equipment meets design, installation, and maintenance standards
• Conduct hazard assessments for equipment operations per safety procedures
• Perform maintenance and repairs on TMM auto-electrical equipment, including:
  • Drill Rigs (DD320, DD321, DD420, DD421, DD422i)
  • Long Hole Rigs (DL421, DL422i, DL432i, Rhino Machine)
  • Cable Bolters (DS421, DS422i, DS412i)
  • Roof Bolters (DS411), Maclean Bolter (946)
  • LHD (LH410, LH517i, LH621i), Dump Trucks (TH430, TH540, TH551i)
  • Shotcrete (Normet), Manitou, and Agicars
• Maintain and repair PDS, PDI, cameras, lighting circuits, and real-time systems
• Ensure equipment certifications comply with operational standards for underground use
• Align with SAP PM for planned maintenance and record-keeping
• Minimize production delays through effective stakeholder communication
• Uphold safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM
• Support training and development of subordinates

Requirements

• Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science
• Relevant Trade Certificate (Auto Electrician or Electrician)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician or 5 years combined experience as an Auto Electrician and Electrician in an underground mining environment
• Experience with TMM mining equipment (listed above)
• Strong troubleshooting skills for auto-electrical issues in underground TMM and ancillary equipment
• Knowledge of SAP PM for maintenance planning and control
• Valid EB / Code 8 Driver’s License
• Active Proto team member (advantageous)
• South African citizenship or valid work permit (no relocation support provided)
