Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent
• Previous retail or cashier experience (advantageous but not essential)
• Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and transactions
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Teamwork and a positive attitude
  • Computer literacy (POS systems knowledge is a plus)
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
• South African citizenship or valid work permit

Duties

• Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the point of sale
• Provide outstanding customer service, addressing queries and offering product advice
• Handle cash, card, and digital payments while maintaining strict cash-up procedures
• Assist with stock replenishment and maintaining a tidy checkout area
• Promote Dis-Chem’s loyalty programme and special offers to customers
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless store experience
