PSiRA Women Drone Pilot Skills Programme 2026 (Phase 2) – Applications Now Open

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) has officially opened applications for the Women Drone Pilot Skills Programme (Phase 2). This exciting initiative is designed to empower women in the private security industry by providing specialised drone pilot training and preparing them for the growing use of drone technology in modern security operations.

Programme Overview

The PSiRA Women Drone Pilot Skills Programme is a 6–8 week training programme aimed at equipping aspiring female security professionals with drone pilot skills for use in the private security sector.

Following the successful completion of the first phase, PSiRA is expanding the programme to provide more women with access to this specialised training.

Selection Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 40 years.
  • Be passionate about technology.
  • Hold a Matric Certificate with 50% or higher in English.
  • Be in good health.
  • Be female.
  • Be PSiRA registered and in good standing.

Documents Required

Applicants should prepare the following documents:

  • Completed application form.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Certified copy of South African ID.
  • Certified copy of Matric Certificate.
  • Certified copy of a valid PSiRA Certificate.

Important Information

Before applying, please note the following:

  • No stipend is payable during the training programme.
  • No data or internet will be provided for the online theory component.
  • Applicants must have access to a reliable internet connection.
  • Training dates will be communicated to successful applicants.
  • Successful candidates will undergo an Aviation Class III Medical Examination.
  • Accommodation and transport to the training facility will be provided.
