Position Purpose
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme at Transnet Corporate Centre offers students and recent graduates a 12-month opportunity to gain practical workplace experience. This programme bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications, enhancing employability through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks.
Position Outputs
Task Execution
- Assist in specific projects within a department or work-stream.
- Perform routine operational tasks under supervision.
- Support administrative functions, including documentation and reporting.
Learning & Development
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs.
- Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical insights.
- Engage in problem-solving activities to develop analytical skills.
Communication & Collaboration
- Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand business needs.
- Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and project progress.
- Serve as a central contact point for queries and assistance.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research, data collection, and analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric certificate or equivalent.
- Completed all theoretical subjects for N6 in one of the following: Office Management, Human Resources, Marketing Management, Logistics, or Communication.
- South African citizen, aged 18–35.
- Preference given to People with Disabilities.
- No bursary obligation with another company.
- Required documents:
- Proof of confirmation/letter from the institution (most recent).
- Certified copy of Matric certificate, Academic Record, and ID.
