About the Opportunity
GALXBOY is preparing for its peak festive trading season and is looking for Seasonal Warehouse Operators to help ensure products move efficiently from the warehouse to stores and customers.
Successful applicants will work behind the scenes to assist with receiving, checking, packing, picking, organising and dispatching merchandise.
The role requires someone who can work accurately while maintaining speed during busy periods.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 – compulsory
- Higher education will be advantageous
- Retail and/or warehouse experience is preferred
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is beneficial
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Inspection & Order Accuracy
Warehouse Operators will inspect merchandise and make sure the products and quantities correspond with customer or store orders.
They will also check that products are not missing, damaged or defective and perform quality checks throughout the packing process.
Picking, Packing & Distribution
Successful candidates will assist with preparing stock for distribution from the warehouse to GALXBOY retail stores and customers.
Products must be packed correctly to minimise the risk of damage while in transit.
Shipping & Receiving
Employees may be required to:
- Use scanning equipment to track inventory
- Receive incoming shipments
- Check incoming merchandise for accuracy
- Prepare orders for dispatch
- Ensure orders are dispatched on time
Warehouse Organisation
Warehouse Operators will also assist with:
- Loading and unloading merchandise
- Moving and stacking products
- Keeping merchandise properly organised
- Making effective use of available warehouse space
- Supporting inventory control activities
Customer Satisfaction
Although this is primarily a warehouse role, accurate picking and packing directly affects customers.
Employees are therefore expected to identify mistakes, help resolve problems and ensure orders reach customers in satisfactory condition.
Working During Peak Season
The successful applicants will join GALXBOY during one of the busiest periods of the year.
The contract runs from 1 October until 31 December 2026, covering the festive shopping period.
Candidates should therefore be prepared for a busy, energetic and performance-focused warehouse environment, with particular emphasis on speed, accuracy and productivity.
