The Northern Cape Department of Education is inviting applications for Temporary Examination Assistants (EAs) for the examination session from September 2025 to August 2026. Requirements
- Eligibility:
- Second, Third, or Fourth-year full-time students at tertiary institutions (Colleges, Universities, or Universities of Technology), with preference for those pursuing a teaching qualification (3rd-year level).
- Unemployed matriculants may apply but will be utilized based on need.
- Applicants must reside in the Northern Cape (proof of residential address, e.g., municipality account, required).
- Northern Cape students studying outside the province are eligible.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must declare any relatives writing the NSC Grade 12 exams or working in the Examinations and Assessment Chief Directorate.
- Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays, under surveillance.
- No employment for remuneration at the time of application (including stipends from learnerships or internships).
Duties
- Check answer scripts/portfolios
- Perform hash totaling of marks
- Data capturing
- Sort and pack scripts/portfolios
- Remove scripts/portfolios from marking/moderation centers
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Manager
