Programme Highlights

• Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract (April 2025 – March 2026)

• Roles: Entry-level retail positions in stores such as Foschini, Markham, Sportscene, TotalSports, @home, and more

Requirements

• Age: 18–28 years old

• Education: Matric (Grade 12) preferred; minimum Grade 10 accepted in some cases

• Employment Status: Must not have been employed permanently with a single employer for more than 1 year

• Study Status: Must not be enrolled in full-time studies during the programme (April 2025 – March 2026)

• Previous Participation: Must not have previously participated in or been registered on the YES Programme

• Logistics: Applicants are responsible for their own accommodation and transportation, if applicable

• Equity: Preference given to candidates from designated groups per South Africa’s Employment Equity Act

Duties

• Assist with day-to-day store operations, including stock management and customer service

• Create enjoyable shopping experiences for customers

• Participate in workplace readiness training via mobile platforms

• Collaborate with teams to maintain store standards
